An online consultant is an obvious function you might want on your website – it enables you to communicate with your website visitors. But in addition, the online consultant is able to collect visitors’ email addresses, which is very useful for email marketing.
By default, if Convead doesn’t know the visitor’s email address, when the operator is offline it will ask the visitor to enter their email address, so that it can still get the operator’s response to the message. If the operator is online, the email address is not requested. But you can force the email request to be enabled in any mode (if it is not yet known).
To do this, go to “Settings” > “Modules” > “Live chat”.
In the opened window of the online consultant’s settings, in the lower dropdown list “Request visitor’s contact details”, select “Always, if contacts are unknown”
Don’t forget to click on the “Save” button!
